INDUSTRIAL HISTORY
1948
Foundation
It was established in Leffe by Giancarlo Zambaiti: Cotonificio Zambaiti.
1966
The First Plant
The first open-end spinning mill opens.
1967
The production unit
Construction of the Cene production unit (weaving and printing) begins.
1974
Purification
Purification systems are installed.
1975
Expansion
Second expansion of the Cene unit with doubling of the spaces dedicated to weaving and printing.
1980
Acquisition of Cassera Casa
Acquisition of the Cassera business unit, Cassera Casa, household linen.
1984
Acquisition of Festi & Rasini
Acquisition of the Nuova Festi & Rasini company, a company specialized in the production of pure cotton fabrics and spinning for combed ring yarns.
1986
Further Extensions
Third expansion of Cene with the addition of the bleaching and dyeing plants. Doubling of purification plants.
1987
Purchase of factory in Stezzano
Purchase and renovation of the Stezzano factory (11,540 covered m2) and subsequent transfer of Proget-Cassera Casa to the site.
1988
Tex Zeta
Tex Zeta is born, a company specializing in the production and marketing of sleepwear for men, women and children.
1989
Water purification
Upgrading of wastewater purification plants. A new 16-color rotary printing machine goes online at Cene. The activity dedicated to quilting begins at the Villa d'Ogna factory.
1990
Recycling of Fabrics and Fibers
installation of the first important machinery for the recycling of fabrics and fibres
1991
Honegger acquisition
Purchase of Honegger Cotonificio, a company with over half a century in the textile sector.
1992
Smoke reduction
Construction of smoke abatement system.
1994
Acquisition of Texmantova spa
Texmantova spa is acquired, which is active in the finishing, ennobling and production of fine fabrics for clothing in its two production units in Castelbelforte (MN) and Garbagnate Milanese (MI).
1996
Office Construction
Construction of office building and technical, administrative and commercial offices. Mr. Giancarlo's eldest son, Dr. Angelo Zambaiti, becomes president of the board of directors of Cotonificio Zambaiti Spa. Opening of the first internal showroom.
1997
ISO9002
Obtaining ISO9002 certification.
1998
Energy 2000
Energia 2000 is born, a srl dedicated to optimizing the purchases of electricity and methane by the Zambaiti group.
1999
Line 3
Zambaiti Linea 3, a company active in the production and marketing of kitchen items, is entirely taken over.
2001
Purchase of new RAM and Printing Machine
Two new Reggiani machines come into operation: - 12-color placed-printing machine - new RAM for fabric finishing
2002
Online Orders
The new system for collecting orders via the Web comes into operation.
2003
Digital printing and Anne Geddes
Production begins on fabric with low water consumption digital printing
The worldwide license for the production and distribution of products designed by Anne Geddes is stipulated.
2004
Double the Digital Printing
Digital printing capacity is doubled.
2005
Hanadeka
Acquired the license for the production and sale of Hanadeka brand household linen.
2006
Naj-Oleari, Kung Fu Panda (Dreamworks) and Orme.
Acquired licenses for the production and sale of household linens under the following brands: Naj-Oleari, Kung Fu Panda (Dreamworks) and Orme.
2007
ICEA certification for Ecotone
Cotonificio Zambaiti receives ICEA certification for the Ecotone brand, a project presented at the Immagine Italia fair.
2009
Zero Impact
As evidence of its sensitivity towards environmental issues, Cotonificio Zambaiti presents a "zero impact" stand at the fair in Florence.

New Colorful Kitchen
A new renovation project for the production departments has been activated with the installation of a new color kitchen.

Synchronization between Cene production departments, new color kitchen and the design process, creative study and sampling.
